Lent 2017 – Day Thirty-Two

The bridge between humanity and God is the Son of God – Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, we are able to go boldly to God; we have been reconciled to our Father. The Scriptures tell us that He is the mediator between the Father and us. Therefore, when we sin against God or we wrong God and God is upset or angry with us, Jesus steps in and reminds the Father of what He went through on earth for our sake and whilst He does that, He washes our sins and cleanses us our unrighteousness.

Thank you God for your Son – the Mediator.

Lent 2017 – Day Thirty-One

In this world, especially in Ghana, everyone will have a piece of advice for you but not all advice is good advice and not all advice will help you live well. But the fact of the matter is that you will not know what is good advice if you don’t listen to advice in general. So what I do is that I listen to the advice that is given and crosscheck it with the standard of advice that I need to live a good life. My standard of advice is the word of God. I crosscheck every piece of advice that I receive with the word of God to make sure that it is consistent with what God wants me to do before I act on the advice. That is the only way that I know I will live well.

Lord, help us to listen to good advice so we can live well.

Lent 2017 – Day Thirty

I believe God has done so much for me. He sent His only Son, Jesus, to come and die for me, and because of that I can go boldly before God, speak to Him and have a relationship with Him. I cherish the relationship that I have with God that is why I take Paul’s advice seriously. We have to give our bodies to God – we must offer our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. It is a living sacrifice because unlike other sacrifices, this sacrifice occurs on a daily basis and through our lives, we must dedicate our bodies to God. That includes what we do with our bodies, what we say, what we watch, and what we fill our minds with.

Let us offer our bodies to God as a living sacrifice today.

Lent 2017 – Day Twenty-Nine

If we live our lives for the approval of people then we will miss the point. We should live our lives for the approval of God. What God thinks of us should be what matters to us. Pleasing man to the displeasure of God is something I always tell God to help me avoid. When faced with a decision to please God or please man, I choose to please God and not people. As Paul puts it, “If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.”

Let us seek the approval of God in all things and not the approval of man.

Lent 2017 – Day Twenty-Eight

Salvation is the best thing that happened to me and I am confident that many believers share a similar sentiment. The thing about salvation is that it assures us of eternity with our Father. It reconciles us to our Father who has promised to take care of us when we put our trust in Him. We are saved from eternal death and damnation. It is an awesome realisation, and I wish that you will have the experience of salvation. The experience of salvation is enough to make you shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation just as the Psalmist says in the verse.

Let us share our story of salvation during this season so that we can have many people shouting joyfully to the rock of our salvation.
