Lent 2017 – Day Seven
Many people pray and wonder why they do not get the answers that they want from God. In fact, there may be many reasons why God may not have answered your prayers the way you want Him to. But one thing you can be sure of is that if you are not righteous, the Lord will barely hear you. God hearing you is very critical to He answering your prayer. If God cannot hear you, how can He answer your prayer? God has to hear you to be able to answer your prayer. The Scripture says God hears the prayer of the righteous but is far from the wicked. Wicked in this context means anyone who is not righteous. Thus, if you are not righteous then in God’s eyes, you are wicked and He is far from you. So how do we become righteous? The Bible spells out the way we can be come righteous. We have to ask God to forgive us for our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness and then learn God’s laws and practice them.
May God make us righteous today.
